Brothers and sisters, have you ever heard of the old adage “It’s not you, it’s me?” One of the oldest and saddest talks one will ever have at the end of a relationship, and when you hear it, you feel confused, worthless, downtrodden, even disappointed, and depressed right? What if we applied that to God? Hey, God, it’s not you, it’s me! You personally would never say that, would you? You wouldn’t “break up” with God, not when HE is the one blessing you, showering you with mercy, grace, and forgiveness.
Now, what would you say if we say it every day of our lives, through our actions, our words, through our works here on earth? Every time we let the opposing side win, and we give up. They’ve taken God out of our schools, out of our government, out of our stores, and off the streets. We’ve allowed the opposing side to take away our freedoms, our freedom of religion, and if you don’t think so remember just a year ago when they shut down all the churches and said we could not assemble, even though we have the right to peaceably assemble?
Do you remember a year ago when social media giants really started to silence people like me, pastors, youth ministers, anyone who had a different view, a different agenda than what they have and what they want? I mean to this day I have to continuously fight to keep my sermons on Facebook. We are under attack, but it’s not their fault, they’ve given into the enemy, they’ve let Satan dictate their lives, and have opened some doors that can never be closed.
God, it’s not you, it’s us. We’re allowing things in this nation to happen that should never have happened. Freedom of religion wasn’t a suggestion it was a right, preaching God in schools, sharing the gospel, and telling others about Jesus in government buildings, schools, even grocery stores was exactly what our forefathers had planned. Had in mind.
Our forefathers came here to America, to get away from the tyranny that we are experiencing today, seeing this as history repeating itself. This nation was built on a foundation of faith, hope, love, kindness, and respect, something that everyone seems to forget until it’s time to get re-elected. We just stand by and let it all happen, we don’t use our voices to speak out, we don’t properly address congress, the house, the senate, the judiciary branches, or even the executive branch, the president himself.
We sit back and allow our government to speak for us when it should be our government listening to us. We own them not the other way around. We’re just to set in our ways letting the politicians run things we don’t give two cents what they do. This is why the United States is in the dire state it’s in.
Acts chapter 5 verse 29 says “But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.”
1st Timothy chapter 2 verses 1 through 2 “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.”
John chapter 19 verses 10 through 11 says “So Pilate said to him, “You will not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to release you and authority to crucify you?” Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore, he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”
Psalm chapter 22 verse 28 says “For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations.”
We are not subject to this world, our “President,” our King is God the Father himself and only HE has authority to govern over us. If our government supports and worships the Father of creation then and only then does our government have the right to govern over us.
Romans chapter 13 verses 1 through 7 says “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but too bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore, one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience.”
Again, though brothers and sisters this only pertains to those governments appointed by God. Today it’s a struggle to figure out if our government is truly Christian though. I’ve been wondering for years if the right people were appointed by God himself because it doesn’t seem very friendly toward God, does it?
We can sit and discuss this topic forever and try to rationalize everything that our government is doing but the fact of the matter is, even Pharoah was appointed by God, even if just to harden his heart and send the plagues, this is how we know God has a sense of humor and is probably having a great laugh right now about Biden.
I don’t try to get political through my sermons, and I try to avoid the subject because not everyone will agree, but this did need to be said because we are turning God away at every chance we get, even though we know HE is the creator, even though we know HE offers love, acceptance, mercy, grace, and showers blessings upon us. We still turn HIM away.
He is no longer allowed in our schools and it shows, look at how much school violence has grown, HE is no longer allowed in our government buildings and look at how bad things have got, Biden has children in cages like animals, refuses to finish putting up the wall that protects us, and has turned down and talked down to every day Americans like you and me to play host to big pharma, big corporations, and continuously allows himself to be influenced by money instead of faith. Maybe being political is the only way to get things to change, for the oppression of our Christian faith and our brothers and sisters in the faith to regain their freedoms, to kick antifaith and antichristian institutions out of our country and stand with one voice, Praise God, for we have overcome.
Maybe getting more political means changes, great changes are coming, and we need to help others realize by waking them up and showing them everything they’ve been missing that God is the answer and HIS rule is the only rule we need.
Let us fill the schools with Faith, religion, and the belief that everyone deserves, let us share the good news that God loves everyone. This Christmas don’t just say happy holidays, make a stand and say Merry Christmas, and actually believe it. Because putting Christ back into HIS holiday, is the first step in making a stand and using your voice in a political manner.
“Father we love you, we invite you into our hearts, our schools, our workplace, and our homes, we are taking a stand for you Father God, and putting your son Christ first, by proclaiming Merry Christmas instead of happy holidays, by stating that Christ is Christmas we are using the voice you have granted us to make a stand for you Father, for what is right, and just and good. We thank you for all the blessings you have granted us, for the air in our lungs, waking up to a new day, for the snow, and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We thank you Lord for our family, our friends, the fruits of the Spirit, and the Gifts of the Spirit that we are all granted and much grateful for. Thank you, Father, for all that you do, have done, and are doing for us. In your holy name, Amen”
