It Takes More Than Love

What I’m about to say, to preach, to share with you all may be shocking, I may turn some heads, I may even lose some of you, but this is too critical to pass up, it’s too damaging to the world not to share, I just ask that you hear me out, read or listen until the end, and keep your remarks and questions until I’m done, please brothers and sisters. You know me, you know I don’t speak unless God speaks through me, you know all my sermons are Christ driven, God written and that I am just HIS mortal instrument through which he speaks. It’s how all of my sermons have been and how they will always be.
It’s not important enough that we just love each other and love God! Love is a good feeling to have, to believe in and to share, that’s not what I’m saying. What I’m trying to get across here is that Love isn’t the only “thing” God calls us for.
Brothers and sisters, to truly love ourselves, to truly love others, and to truly love God, we need to perform the actions, act on our feelings, and Move in the name of the Father. If we are called to pastor then I say go pastor, HE will guide you. If you’re called on to serve others, then volunteer at a soup kitchen, help hand out sandwiches, offer an open hand to those in need, knit gloves, knit hats, offer and lend an open ear to those who just need someone to listen.
If you’re called to raise your voice, join a local choir, or even bring people together to form a local choir if your town needs one. Whatever your gifts maybe use them, share them, but loving yourself, loving others, and loving God, just isn’t enough, we are given Divine, and Holy gifts that are not meant just for us, or just for our families, they are meant for the world, we are meant to share, we are meant to serve others, because by serving others we serve God.
Brothers and sisters, the world wants to bring us down, the world wants to silence us, the world is going through a dark time, just look at what is happening, terrorist groups are wearing black, their flags are black, we have plagues, and wildfires, and the earth is in pain with everything we humans have done. There is a garbage patch in the pacific that is 2x larger than Texas alone.
All of us, each and everyone of us, Christian, Jew, Catholic, French, Spanish, African, Taiwanese, Canadian, European, German, Irish, Tanzanian, Chilean, Texan, Alaskan, Swedish, Indian, Hindu, Buddhist every single person on this planet is being called by a Holy and Divine spirit to share in their spiritual gifts, to show how much they love each other. What we need to do brothers and sisters, is get over ourselves, get over our differences, even in our own countries, and give peace a chance.
We need to work together for a future that has no borders, a future that preserves this planet so our children have the opportunity to colonize space, or the oceans, so we can be a people of exploration and change what we’ve done to the planet for the better, so we can change what we’ve done to each other for the better, so our children DO NOT inherit our mistakes, but our prosperity. This is the WILL of GOD!
This is what GOD calls us for. Our God, Your God, no matter what name you call HIM, Allah, The Great Spirit, Father, Alpha, Omega, Talos, it doesn’t matter, God is moving in you, and moving you to do the right thing just as he has called me to do what I do, Brothers and Sisters, HE is moving in me and moving me to speak to all of you.
Without God we gain nothing, Without God we are nothing, HE grants us everlasting life, he provides for us, HE watches over us. Every lifesaving medication we have, from penicillin and amoxicillin to chemo and Ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin and moxifloxacin, Gentamicin, Doxycycline. All cures for cancer and plagues, which are answered prayers. God granted us the knowledge and someone, some scientist was smart enough to decipher the knowledge and share it with the world. Every prayer that has ever been prayed has been and always will be answered, even if the answer is NO, God answers.
Mark chapter 11 verse 24 says “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Matthew chapter 7 verse 7 says “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6 says “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
Scripture that reflects on our spiritual and divine gifts.
Romans chapter 12 verse 6-8 says “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.”
1 Peter chapter 4 verse 10-11 “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
We are called to serve others and in doing so, we serve our Father and HIS son, we are called to share our spiritual and divine gifts to better ourselves and each other, in doing so, we better the world, and I don’t mean just the people here but the actual earth itself.
Brothers and sisters, it takes HOPE, FAITH, LOVE, and SERVICE to OTHERS to fulfill what the bible calls us to do. Next time you see a neighbor struggling, the crazy old couple across the street in trouble, next time you come across a child who needs help don’t turn your back and walk away, reach out a cheerful hand, smile and offer help, do what feels right without thinking about it.
“Holy Father, we call out to you with concern, with pain, with contempt, knowing that we have not fully followed what you have commanded, we call out to you with love and hope, that you will hear our prayers and answer them, for where two or three are gathered in your name there will you be, we are here to ask for your forgiveness, for your blessing, we are here to shout out to our brothers and sisters that we are Christians, we are love, and we want to be better both as a people and as your followers, that we may here your commands and follow them. For you have a better plan for our lives than we do, and we know that you will guide us on the paths we need to follow. We are here for you LORD, we are ready for you to take our lives fully and guide us to where we are needed. In your holy and blessed name Father, AMEN”
May God Bless you and yours as this week opens with new doors, new possibilities and may you all be ready to take up the charge on the darkness that surrounds us today and be ready to be a light for someone else who may need to see it. Thank you all for your time, and your tithes.
