Signs and Wonders!
Good morning brothers and sisters, I hope all is well with you all, and that God has graced each and every one of you with blessings and good tidings this week. This year has gone by so fast, it’s almost time to celebrate Jesus’ birth, isn’t that amazing? I personally can’t wait, I love Christmas, the smells, the sights, the lights, and all the signs and wonders that go along with this very special, very religious season.

Let’s open in prayer. “Father God, be here with us today as we open our minds, and prepare our hearts to receive your word Lord, each of us loves you and each of us are here today because of you, help us understand what is said today in sermon and in song. Help us keep an open mind and let your words flow like water unto us. You are the great I AM and YOU LORD are mighty in power, Creator of all the heavens and earth, You show us your amazing power every day in the sunsets, the sun rises, and even in the thick fog we can see the beauty you give us Lord and we are in awe of everything you can do. In your Holy and Highest Name, we Pray, Amen.”
Let’s go to our short but powerful scripture reading for today.
John chapter 4 verses 47 through 50, “When this man had heard that this man had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to HIM and begged him to heal his son, who was close to death.” “Unless you people SEE signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “You will never believe.” The royal official said, “sir come down before my child dies.” “Go,” Jesus told him “Your son will live.”
Isn’t this true even today brothers and sisters? There are all these beautiful signs such as the majestic mountains rising out of the ocean just as HE created them, there are beautiful sunrises, and sunsets, such wonderous things that God gives us each and every day, and yet the people still cry out, prove to me HE is real, show me any kind of proof that HE exists, and I’ll believe.
Ever run into someone like that? On the street, in the grocery store, even in your own home? We all know someone who is either atheist or agnostic, maybe there is something maybe not, we can’t be sure. Even “lukewarm” Christians don’t fully believe, they question everything.
God is everywhere though, isn’t he? We can see him in the mighty oceans of the world, we can see him in the sand dollars, and working his healing in our families, God is always with us, we don’t need to see proof HE is there, we can feel HIS love and see his wonders every day of our lives.
Mark chapter 16 verses 16 through 17 “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;”
Matthew chapter 28 verse 20 “Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Romans chapter 8 verses 38 through 39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Colossians chapter 1 verse 16 “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”
John chapter 20 verse 29 “Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Joshua chapter 1 verse 9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Isaiah chapter 41 verse 10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
God and Jesus are with us always, miracles are performed every day, and we, brothers and sisters have the proof to see that They are with us always. No matter what we do or where we go, Jesus, and by extension, God is continuously watching over us. What more proof do we need?
God is in the air we breathe, the beating of our hearts, in every child’s face, we can see God. I think no, I know that that is so amazing. So Wonderous is HE that created each one of us, “sewn” the pieces together in our mother’s womb that would eventually lead to who we are today, what we look like today.
Because we are Christians and because HE who is the creator, the great I AM is always with us, we should have no fear, no worries, we know that HE will take care of all our needs, that he will help us and get us through even the toughest storms of our lives.
No matter what we’re doing, where we are at, no matter the details of our lives that got us into whatever mess we may be in, God is with us, HE is among us and HE will protect us and keep us safe.
There is no greater love than that of our Brother Jesus and our Father God. There is no greater surgeon, or prophet, or speaker, than God Almighty himself.
There is a reason they call it blind faith because even if we don’t see miracles happening, healing taking place, or even witnessing something grand and beautiful, as long as we believe that Jesus died for our sins. YOU will always be loved, and YOU brothers and sisters will one day see Heaven but until that time we just have to keep believing and strengthening our faith no matter the cost.
Even if we think we’ve messed up, even if we think that all hope is lost, even if we think we are totally alone, that we will never see or gain anything, as long as you have your faith you will always be forgiven and you will always be loved.
Thank you for being with us today, thank you for reading the sermon and keeping an open mind. Let us close in prayer.
“Father God, YOU are mighty, YOU are wonderous and beautiful, we thank you Father for the blessings you pour out to us, for the wonders you show, for the miracles you perform, We thank you for all of creation, for the planets, the moon, and the stars, We thank you Lord for our talents, for our gifts of the spirit, and gifts of the Father, and we ask that you be with us always. In your holy name Amen”
