Superheroes

Good morning #RebelFam, how are we today, everyone well? Blessed? Thankful? I come to you today through love, through faith, through fellowship to spend time with you, and talk about what God, our Father has planned for you!

Last week we spoke on being thankful and giving thanks to those around us, thanking your cashier for just being them, and for showing up to work. Thanking that waitress or bellhop for just being there to help you with your order or taking your bags for you.

Did you know that God, our Father has so much more planned for you than just wanting you to be thankful? There are so many gifts that you have been blessed with and they are meant to show you your path and help you become the person God wants you to be.

I’m talking, brothers and sisters, about the “Gifts of the Holy Spirit” and there are 9 in total. Now I know it bothers some of you your OCD, your Anxiety, oh my why can’t it be 10 or 15, I ask that constantly, but yes brothers and sisters, there are 9 gifts, and we each possess at least one, some of you maybe two or three.

We are all special in God’s eyes though and HE loves us all equally.

1 Corinthians chapter 12 verse 7-11 “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another, different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

It gets better though because if the gifts of the Holy Spirit are the proverbial cake, then the 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit are the icing on the cake, making the spiritual gifts a total of 18.

Galatians chapter 5 verse 22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.”

Therefore, brothers and sisters, there are 18 gifts, 18 “Spiritual and Divine powers” that make us all superheroes.

Word of Wisdom: I Corinthians 12:8; Luke 6:9.

 Word of Knowledge: I Corinthians 12:8; Luke 18:22.

 Faith: I Corinthians 12:9; Acts 3:6-7

 Gifts of healing: I Corinthians 12:9, 28; Acts 28:1-10.

 Working of miracles: I Corinthians 12:10; Acts 6:8.

 Prophecy: I Corinthians 12:10; I Thessalonians 5:20-21; Ephesians 4:11.

 Discerning of spirits: I Corinthians 12:10; Luke 8:29.

 Tongues: I Corinthians 12:10; Acts 19:6.

 Interpretation of tongues: I Corinthians 12:10; 14:13-33.

 Helping: I Corinthians 12:28.

 Administration: I Corinthians 12:28; Acts 6:2-3.

 Grace: Romans 12:6; Ephesians 3:7; 4:7; I Peter 4:10-11.

 Ministry/service: Romans 12:7; II Timothy 1:16-18.

 Teaching: Romans 12:7; Ephesians 4:11-14.

 Encouragement: Romans 12:8; Hebrews 10:24-25.

 Giving: Romans 12:8; I Corinthians 13:3; Acts 4:32-35.

 Leadership /Ruler: Romans 12:8; Acts 13:12.

 Mercy: Romans 12:8; Luke 5:12-13.

This is a complete list of where you can find each gift in the bible and find meaning, definition, and see how it pertains to Jesus and to your life. As I said some of you will have multiple while others may only feel as if they only have one. It’s okay though because in God’s eyes we are all superheroes and we even have an outfit to go with our spiritual gifts, The armor, and weapon of God.

Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10 through 18 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

I mean come on brothers and sisters, isn’t God awesome, doesn’t HE deserve our thanks? Our Father loves us so much that HE gave us superpowers, superhero armor, and even a sword, next time you’re feeling down or feeling like you don’t matter, NEXT TIME SOME TELLS YOU TO GO AWAY or TO DISAPPEAR.

Next time someone treats you with ill intent, or disgust remember brothers and sisters God is on your side and he has armed you with everything you need to survive, everything you need to beat down evil and stand in HIS GLORY, in HIS VICTORY because we absolutely cannot do anything if God doesn’t will it.
