Welcome brothers, welcome sisters, this is truly a glorious and wonderful time of the year, isn’t it? Halloween is over and now the season of giving begins. As most of you all know I love this time of the year, people are kinder, more generous, and love for our fellow man and woman is in the air. We all take time to help others in need more so than the entirety of the other ten or so months, and the weather gets cooler, which means the sweaters get to come out of the closet, and the snow, oh the snow, the snow is so beautiful and makes the world seem clean and new and is so wonderful for photographing God’s works.

That’s the beauty of life though, isn’t it, being granted a new day to see and experience all of what God has to offer, the context of what our life has in store for us that day, the textures, the magnificent depth of field and even the brilliant colors he paints with.

Now I’m not insensitive I understand some of us are lacking a bit in the gift of sight area, I mean no disrespect, my father is colorblind, my wife is blind without her glasses, but that is why I stated it the way I did context, texture, depth of field, I try to be all-inclusive brothers and sisters, so I do apologize to those who feel offended that is not my intention.

My intention is to describe all of what God has to offer for all of us, and to put it into perspective, and focus on the positivity that our Father in Heaven has for us. That’s the true beauty though, isn’t it? As beautiful as the world is, as beautiful as our creation, our lives are, the things that our Father has in store for us is the most beautiful of all, everlasting life with the Father in HIS kingdom….

What awaits us is more beautiful than all the riches, all the treasures, all the colors in all the world, on that day, our eyes will be open, and we will see everything that the All-Mighty has been waiting to share with us. Colors so rich, textures so defined, that if we were to remain in our earthly bodies our mental capacity would overload.

1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 9 says “But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”

Matthew chapter 6 verses 19-21 says “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Revelation chapter 21 verses 1-5 says “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also, he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

These particular passages talk about the beauty of Heaven and where our hearts should lie. “As a bride adorned for her husband,” if you have ever been married, or taken part in a marriage ceremony or just even attended a wedding, it’s always about the bride and how amazing and stunning, and gorgeous she looks, now take that description, and apply on a larger scale, New Jerusalem coming down from Heaven, ready to grace the Earth with her presence. Heaven and earth will be no more because they become one.

All those that God Himself deems worthy will dwell there for all the rest of eternity. Those who have accepted Jesus Christ lived their lives according to their faith in the Almighty. It’s not enough to be baptized, it really isn’t, baptism isn’t a blanket for being saved, and here’s the kicker, if you were baptized as a baby, when you reach the age of reason or as some call it the age of accountability you are to in some religions be baptized again, symbolizing the taking of responsibility off of your parents and placing it on yourself, in others they call it reaffirming your faith.

Either way, you look at it. It’s not a blanket that will protect you, when you take baptism, reaffirmation, you make a covenant, a promise to the Great Spirit that you understand the “conditions” the responsibilities of being a Christian and that you will follow the commandments put forth by God and by Jesus in both the old and new testaments and the scriptures contained within.

The Holy Scriptures are very clear on exactly who gets into Heaven and who doesn’t. I have a completely different sermon on that and if I ever find where I wrote it down at, I will gladly share it with you again.

Romans chapter 6 verses 1 through 23 says “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.”

Matthew chapter 28 verses 18 through 20 says “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

John chapter 1 verses 29 through 33 says “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me because he was before me.’ I myself did not know him, but for this purpose, I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel.” And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.”

We kind of went off on a tangent here and started talking strictly about baptism, but it’s important to know where baptism comes from, the purpose of baptism, and the importance of and difference of being baptized by water and by the Holy Spirit.

To think God gives us all these gifts, including HIS Son just so we can see the wonders, the magnificent beauty that is HIS home, HIS dwelling, HIS HOUSE which is known to us as Heaven. Brothers and sisters, have you known any Greater love on this plane of existence than that of the All-Father, the Creator of the universe and everything contained in it?

Our Father, Our God is amazing and so full of grace and mercy, if you take anything away from this message today, it’s this: God has a plan for you, even greater than your own, HE has a use for you, and HE has called you to step up and do what is right not what is popular, HE has called you to walk THE PATH that HE has laid out for you, not the one that is easy to traverse, HE brothers and sisters has called you to do what is Holy in HIS eyes, not what you want the world to see you as.

There is love, acceptance, forgiveness, and eternal life in a world full of beauty and richness if only we accept Jesus and follow what HE taught in the Holy Bible.

“Father God, we come to you in prayer today to ask YOU Lord, for the forgiveness of our sins, not because we have to, we have come to understand we are already forgiven through the blood of YOUR SON, Jesus, but because we want too. We have a yearning to atone for our past sins and make ourselves right through the belief in Jesus so we may spend eternity with YOU O Lord, We thank you for our well-being, and ask that you heal those who are sick, battling cancer, fighting loss whether through choice or force, Father we ask that you grant us deep restful sleep so we may wake with a passion to do your works. Thank you, Lord for all you do, and all HIS Devoted said Amen”
