The Promise of Rebuilding and Restoration

Good morning brothers and sisters, and a very big hello to all my #RebelFam and #RebelArmy before we begin let us open in prayer,

“Father God, We thank you for the new year you have brought us, and have allowed us to see, We thank you Father God for the many blessings, promises, and new beginnings that come with this new season, we have the opportunity to rebuild ourselves, make fresh new decisions, and find new ways of re-inventing ourselves, our lives, and make better decisions, Father God, because of you we have the opportunity to experience your living word through new eyes, fresh understanding, and because of you Father God, we are able to lay new foundations for friendships, business relationships, and newfound wisdom to live our lives by. We love you Father God, and we ask that you be with us today as we explore your word, and you impart your knowledge and understanding to us. Thank you for the opportunities and decisions that a brand-new day affords us. In your holy and most high name, all your people said Amen”

Our Holy reading comes from Amos chapter 9 verses 11-15 today.

“In that day I will restore David’s fallen shelter, I will repair its broken walls, and restore its ruins, and will rebuild it as it used to be, so that they may possess the remnant of Edom and all the nations that bear my name,” declares the Lord, who will do these things. “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills, and I will bring my people of Israel back from exile. “They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit. I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the Lord your God.”

In this passage, in these holy verses, we read that God promises to one day restore Israel to its Holy and magnificent Glory. That the old cities will be restored, the people restored, that the lands will once again be fruitful and plentiful. That everything will be the way God intended it to be.

This is much like our lives right now. We have a new year, a fresh slate to go out and explore, try new things, try activities that we’ve never tried before, make new friends, and restore ourselves through Jesus Christ and God the Father. Just as God has promised to restore Israel, and in particular Jerusalem, David’s Shelter, or the Kingdom of David, or if you prefer the City of David, He has also promised to refresh us and give us new life, every day we wake up is a fresh start, new decisions, and a perfect opportunity to do something bold, just as with a new year we have the opportunity for re-invention, restoration, and have new possibilities with newfound wisdom.

You see the God in the Bible and the God today, are one and the same, He hasn’t changed, the way in which we worship HIM has, we no longer make the holy sacrifices because Jesus paid the ultimate price for each and every one of us, but we do make small sacrifices every day. Whether we sacrifice our time and energy, or we sacrifice monetary gifts, sometimes we sacrifice ourselves, our health, our well-being to achieve goals in which we personally want to achieve.

My birthday was Friday the 14th, as a gift my wife took me out to dinner along with our three adult children, my son Walter chose to take part in the #EatHeat challenge that Quaker Steak and Lube has. It’s the hottest legal in the USA hot sauce on bone-in wings that you can get, I think it’s like venom ghost pepper sauce or something like that, anyway, he sacrificed himself, his health, and his stomach to take on this challenge, and got a tee shirt for doing it. That’s what this is all about, trying new things, and whether you succeed or fail, God is there to build you up again, to rebuild and make us new.

Just as HE has promised to restore the people to Israel the nations that believe and worship HIM, “bear HIS name” and Israel herself, HE does promise to restore each and every one of us.

Even after all that we have experienced this past year, a broken world crying out for healing after Covid tried to destroy us and separate us, the governments tried to stop our worship gatherings, and keep us from one another, after the threats of war, food scarcity, medications running dry, and all that we had to endure, our brothers and sisters losing their faith and other hardships not mentioned, We are being restored even today, because of the Love of our Father, and the care he has for us.

Joel chapter 2 verses 25-26 says “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame.”

1 Peter chapter 5 verse 10 says “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”

Acts chapter 3 verses 19-21 says “Repent, therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.”

All through the Bible we can see, hear, and read about God restoring us, healing us, gifting us new life, new experiences, and new understandings, God loves us, he wants us to have a good life and experience everything HE has to offer, to the fullest. All he requires is that we have faith, that we believe in HIM, exalt, and believe in HIS SON and invite them into our hearts. IF we do, our lives will be truly blessed.

With profound wisdom and infinite intelligence, we can accomplish anything that we set our minds to, but without deep respect, a deeper love for our Father, God, a deeper faith that HE is there, and HE does follow through all his promises, our achievements are meaningless. We need God in our lives, we need God in all our Nations, and we need God in order to restore our World, rebuild our brokenness, and make whole what has been destroyed.

Once our world has been restored, we can reap the fruits of our labor, the fruits of our land and the vineyards will run in abundance we will never know hunger, thirst, pain, or regret. Once the world has been restored, we too will be rebuilt, renewed in a heavenly body that will never know the hardships we know now. We will be restored and made perfect.

This coming week, Jan 18 through the 25th is the worldwide, international Christian Prayer week, it’s a week where Christians of all faiths, all religions come together to pray for one another, pray for our nations, pray for healing, redemption, and salvation, we pray for friends, family, church family and just anything that we need prayer for. I ask I implore, I dare each and every one of you, that you take one hour a day this week and sit and pray for these things, if you would like to, I plan on holding a zoom meeting of prayer warriors where we will pray for all the requests that we have come in, pray for each individual and just spend that time with God the Father. I’ll post the meeting room and the password every day that week at 7 pm and you’re welcome to come and go as you please.

Let’s end in prayer today. “Father God, you are Amazing, Beautiful, Gracious, and Merciful, blessed are we who know your abundance and how deeply blessed we are to want to share with others the Name of Jesus and the Gifts YOU have to offer us. Father God, thank you for being you, thank you for taking care of us, and watching over us, thank you for new opportunities, and promises of restoration, and rebuilding, thank you for making us who we are, and helping us along our road, guiding us to our destination and keeping us safe along the way. Father God, we have a deep and profound love for YOU and the Holy Trinity. Thank you for the many blessings we will experience this week, and thank you for the new experiences you present us with each and every day in your holy name we pray, Amen”
