Where are you saving your Achievements?

Let us open this morning with a prayer, “Father we thank you for all that you do for us, watching over us, protecting us, and guiding our feet down the path you have laid before us, help us not forget that everything we do should be in your Holy name and that we don’t need to earn favor with you because favor from you is freely given, We believe in the Holy Trinity, the God Head three in one, and we know that nothing is impossible as long as we believe in you, Heavenly Father guide our hearts, and prepare us for the message today, in your Holy Name all who believe in you say Amen”

Where are you saving your achievements?

The title of this sermon is a very clear, very direct question! Where are you saving your achievements?

Some of us might say well I play Xbox or PlayStation, yet others might say the Switch by Nintendo, or I have them on my wall or mantel at home. This begs the question are we living for God or for ourselves. Are we storing up our achievements in Heaven or are we living to please this world?

Then the question for this sermon, the question I put forth brothers and sisters becomes clearer, makes you think, yeah, I’m a good person, I tithe, I help fellow church members, I do things to please God, but the heart of the matter is that you just said you have your achievements here on earth stored on a wall or hard drive. Your thinking, your thoughts led you straight to something that is of this earth, something man-made, and man-created, not something God led, or God created.

That’s how all of society is today, we’re too busy building up our achievements in games and sports, we’re too busy thinking about what we are doing here and now, to notice everything we have been given from the Father, what we have achieved through the blood that Christ spilled for us. Why HE hung on the cross FOR US.

Once it’s brought up, we’re in agreement, yes, I’m a Christian, yes, I help, yadda yadda yadda, but without being prompted as to where we are talking about or what or who, then that question will always have the same response. Because that is the herd mentality, that is society’s grasp on us all. We as Christians brothers and sisters, WE AS CHRISTIANS need to break away from this one-track thinking so when we are confronted by a non-believer or even skeptics who may or may not believe in the Father. That we know exactly where we have achieved the most precious achievement there is, that is the glory of Heaven.

Through Christ, we have achieved everlasting life, through Christ we have achieved eternity with the Father, THROUGH CHRIST we have achieved pure, unconditional love and forgiveness that can never be taken away from US by anyone of this earth.

Our brainwaves and our patterns need to be adjusted, and we need to fix what is broken in us so that when a question like this is presented to us, we can answer with the full power of Heaven next to us and behind us because if we stand with the full force of Heaven, no one can challenge us. No one can hurt us, and no one can take anything from us.

Those achievements, by the way, we didn’t earn them, they were given to us freely and without regret. Our God, Our Father, the Great Spirit freely gives these achievements to all who believe in HIS son and believes in HIM also. We don’t have to work for them, they’re not earned, they are just there for the taking and all we have to do is believe, more importantly, have faith.

Ephesians chapter 1 verse 11 “In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,”

Colossians chapter 2 verse 8 “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”

John chapter 16 verse 33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Luke chapter 6 verse 38 “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Romans chapter 12 verse 2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Galatians chapter 1 verse 10 “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

James chapter 1 verse 2-4 “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

Count it all Joy brothers and sisters, because we are not seeking the approval of this world, hopefully, all of us are seeking the approval of the next world that is to come.

As I said our works, our Achievements the ones that actually matter, are freely and lovingly given to us we do not need to do anything to earn them, freely give and it will be given, seek and you shall find, the Bible speaks true to everything I’ve been given to say to you today. I hope many of you take these words to heart and start reprogramming your mind to think more about your Heavenly achievements rather than your earthly ones.

This can be said for many questions, “where do you live” I believe the proper response should sound something like this, “as of right now I live at add your address here but if your wondering if that is my forever home, sorry my forever home is in Heaven” see by changing the way we think, by acknowledging the grasp society has on us and changing our mindset, we may change other’s minds as well.

Let us close in prayer, “Father we know that everything we do is for you, and through you, because you are the one and only true God and you guide us along our path, according to your plans and your will may it be done. Father, each one of us loves you in our own way, and we know that the way to Heaven, to everlasting life, is through you Lord, may we always remember that. Father thank you for watching over us, protecting us, carrying us when we need it, Thank you for always being there, and thank you for this sermon today. In your Holy name all who believe say Amen”
